The Villa Asterias estate is situated in Greece, surrounded by olive groves, fringed by the clear blue sea, the mountains of the Peloponnese in the background, overlooking the picturesque Saronic island of Hydra and right on 100 metres of its own sandy beach. Villa Asterias consists of two villas that can be rented separately or together. Villa Asterias Beach measures 135 sqm and has 2 bedrooms, Villa Asterias Garden 145 sqm with 3 bedrooms.
Both villas have their own access to the beach and their own freshwater beach showers. The views from the living rooms are of the sea, while the views from the bedrooms consist partly of the sea and partly of the olive groves.
Neither of the villas is industrially equipped; all the fittings were specially commissioned and made by hand. The villas use solar energy. Prices on enquiry.
The property owes its name to ASTERIAS, starfish in English, and our first walk along the beach, when we found a lovely little starfish in the surf.
The property produces its own first-class olive oil, MENELAOS. Guests receive one bottle of it as a gift.
Villa Asterias is located on the mainland of the Peloponnese amidst olive groves and flowering oleanders; almond, pomegranate and mulberry trees; jasmine, bougainvillea, oregano, thyme and rosemary on its own 130-metre beach. Villa Beach has a terrace and a 100-year-old pine tree; Villa Garden has its own herb bed and a beachball field. Both villas have their own access to the beach.
The nearest town with shops, tavernas, cafés, musical performances and bars, is the fishing town of Ermioni, a 15-minute drive away.
The little port of Metoxi is only 5 minutes away by car, and a convenient starting point for boat excursions.
Villa Asterias is a 2 1/2-hour drive from Athens airport and an hour away by speedboat. There are four ways of getting there:
Hire car, which can be picked up directly at the airport (2 1/2 hours)
Chauffeur service / van that picks you up at the airport and takes you straight to the property (2 1/2 hours)
Speedboat (11 metres, Scorpion) with an experienced captain from the port of Piraeus (1 hour)
Helicopter directly from the airport to the nearest town, over the city of Athens, the Acropolis and the Peloponnese (30-minute flight and 15 minutes by car)
The property is designed in a modern, simple interpretation of the traditional Greek style. The basic colour is white, combined with medium blue, olive green and lilac. Both residences have spacious living rooms, and each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and wc. The kitchens are open-plan and combined with the living area.

Villa Beach (135 sqm living space + extra terraces + 50-metre private beach) with a terrace and a 100-year-old pine tree, built like a taverna, with a large professional barbecue (including a spit and a grill), its own well and a traditional stone oven. There is an approximately 4-metre walk to the beach. A pine tree right beside the water provides plenty of shade.

Excursion to the picturesque Saronic artists' island of Hydra, where there are no cars or motorbikes and which has retained its originality: it has the highest protection of historical moments such as the Acropolis, and has beautiful and high-quality tavernas, ice cream parlours, shops, pubs, donkey and water taxis for transportation (30 minutes away)
Excursion to the Saronic island of Poros, which nestles equally picturesquely on the hillside of the harbour and has equally delightful and original tavernas, ice cream parlours, shops and pubs (40 minutes away)
Excursions to the Saronic island of Spetses which, like Hydra, is car-free; horse-drawn carriages and water taxis (40 minutes away)
Excursion to the fishing village of Ermioni, Port Cheli, Nafplion
